Schools and Teachers
ANS exists to promote environmental learning in the Greater Washington D.C. region and to help preserve the natural habitats here. Schools and teachers are KEY to fulfilling this mission!
We want to work with you to help you enrich your curriculum, create school-wide projects that students and teachers will love, and encourage environmental stewardship in your school community.
ANS School Programs offer field trips and special Naturalist in Your Classroom Programs for children in MD, DC and VA.
Our exceptional outreach program, GreenKids, brings naturalists and new ideas into your classrooms throughout the year and helps you to earn the Maryland Green School Certification or the Virginia Naturally Award.
Audubon Afterschool Nature Clubs focus on bringing children outside to play and learn in nature at the end of the school day! Sessions run once a week for 6-weeks on site at your school.
Discover opportunities for teachers through our teacher training workshop, Teachable Science. Earn 1 MSDE credit or $150 stipend for attending and receive a free Teachable Tote full of science materials to use in the classroom.
And for children between 3½ and 5 years of age, we offer the Audubon Nature Preschool.
