Nature Programs for Scoutsscouts

Looking for a WILD place to earn your scout badges?

Audubon Naturalist Society provides an easy, fun-filled way to earn your nature and wildlife badges. We offer a variety of programs led by experienced naturalists at our nature sanctuaries in Chevy Chase, MD and Leesburg, VA as well as at the Broadlands Nature Center in Broadlands, VA.  Interested in having a naturalist come to you? Check out our Naturalist in the Classroom programs.

Explore our ponds, meadows, and forests to experience nature up close! Programs range from one to two hours in length and are offered seven days a week between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.  For specific dates and times, please contact us for availability.

Program offerings can be found in the School Programs Catalog. Most School Programs can be slightly tailored to meet the requirements of your badge. Please let us know if there is anything specific you would like for us to cover.

Night Hikes, Campfires and Overnights at Woodend

Join naturalists at Woodend Nature Sanctuary for a fun-filled nature hike followed by campfire building, roasting S’mores, and singing campfire songs.

Extend the excitement of your night hike and campfire with an overnight at Woodend! Choose between sleeping inside our historic mansion or camping outside under the stars. In the morning we’ll cook breakfast together before you head home or back to school. Add an optional morning hike after breakfast to complete the experience.

For more information and pricing options, see the School Programs Catalog.

Awards and Bridging Ceremonies at Woodend:
