Nature and Science Homeschool Programs

Looking for activities for your homeschool group? The Audubon Naturalist Society can provide your group with a variety of different activities led by experienced naturalists at our Woodend (Chevy Chase, MD) and Rust (Leesburg, VA) Sanctuaries.

Program Offerings

One-time field trips: Join us at one of our beautiful sanctuaries for a field trip! Explore our ponds, meadows, and forests and experience nature up close. Programs range from one to two hours in length and topics include life cycles, birds, animal habitats and many more. Interested in another topic? Work with us to create a customized trip for an additional fee. For more information visit our School Programs page.

Mini-series: Interested in having a weekly or monthly visit with a naturalist? Set up a mini-series with us! Each group has the opportunity to customize a class series or to choose from a list of pre-developed programs. Series can last between 6 weeks or an entire semester and meet for 2 hours at a time. Minimum of seven children per class.
