Children's Programs

Foster your child's curiosity, imagination, and capacity for amazement in our children's programs

Environmental education can be a powerful influence in shaping a young life. All sessions taught by experienced staff naturalists. These classes meet at the Woodend Sanctuary in Chevy Chase, MD. Rust programs are listed on the Rust Sanctuary webpage. Children should be at least the age specified for the class and dressed appropriately for outdoor activities. Questions? Members $80 per day; nonmembers $95 per day
We pack each day with a variety of nature-themed, hands-on activities including outdoor exploration, nature hikes, field games, and crafts. Register online.

Eco-Team Service Learning

8:30 am-5:30 pm
Members $80 per day; nonmembers $95 per day
Earn SSL hours while learning about the natural environment. Each day focuses on an environmental theme with four hours of service learning projects and tons of nature fun. Register online.


Spring Break Camp 2016

Grades K-5
Monday, March 28 - Friday, April 1
8:30 am-3:00 pm (extended camp available til 6:00 pm for $115)
Members $347; nonmembers $432
Spend your spring break outdoors on our beautiful nature sanctuary. Campers will spend a week discovering salamander eggs, flower buds, wood frog calls, and other signs of spring. Outdoor play, crafts, songs, and stories will enhance our natural history learning. Register online. 

Spring Break Camp: Eco-Action - Student Service Learning

Grades 6-9

Monday, March 28 - Friday, April 1
8:30 am-3:00 pm (extended camp available til 6:00 pm for $115)
Members $347; nonmembers $432
Earn 20 SSL hours while learning about the natural environment! Each day our Eco Action Team will take on a new project to improve the sanctuary, while at the same time learning about the environment and having fun. Register online.
