GreenKids Participates in Share the Adventure's Crayon Recycling Program

GreenKids schools joined other families and volunteers in a wonderful crayon recycling program during the run of Adventure Theatre's much celebrated production of "Harold and the Purple Crayon."

Thousands of crayons were brought to Adventure Theatre and various locations around the area to be sent to CrazyCrayons.com, a crayon recycling program. Some crayons were used by Adventure Theater and the Children’s Inn at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for a fun arts and crafts project. Art creations from recycled crayons were given to young patients at NIH’s Children’s Inn.

The recycling project was sponsored by Share the Adventure, Adventure Theatre's Community Engagement program, in partnership with Bethesda Green, the GreenKids program of the Audubon Naturalist Society, McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant, Gaffney's Restaurant, Children's Inn at NIH, BlackFinn Restaurant & Saloon, and CrazyCrayons.com

GreenKids
is happy to support and encourage creative projects that get kids involved in environmental issues!
